Hey everyone.
So I have found that having a blog is a lot harder than I thought it would be. For one, it kind of makes my nails too much of a priority when really it should just be a fun hobby. I feel like "oh wow I need to buy new polish just to take photos of it" when really I shouldn't be worrying about that. :) Also my nails don't seem to be as nice as I'd like them to be. I think I'm just going to let the beauty experts write and maybe I will sit in the sidelines and read from now on..
I used to love having a website but now it seems like more of a chore! I will definitely be reading everyone's blogs though or maybe turn this into more of a personal blog as well. I thought making youtube videos would be fun but I never realized how much work the vloggers put into it! Props to them.
On other news I recently finished the book Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella.
The book was amazing! I usually don't get to read much during school but I really enjoyed having another distraction. I loved her Confessions of a Shopaholic series and I loved this as well. It is about a girl, Lara Lington, who attends her great aunt's funeral without ever really knowing her. Suddenly Lara is tormented by the ghost of her great aunt Sadie! Sadie is a lively twenties girl who makes fun of Lara at every turn. The book started off slow for me but once I got into the first few chapters I was hooked. I LOVED the main male character Ed. Don't want to give anything away but if you love chick lit I'd say definitely check this one out (literally, from the library..) lol.

Girly Game Review
Hey everyone!
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. Been busy with school and work plus I haven't really had much to write about. Last Monday though I did pick up the game Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Nintendo Wii.
It came out on Sunday the 17th. So far I have only played it for about 3 hours but I love it! Such a cute game. I love fun, casual games that require some skill but aren't too hard. It reminds me a lot of Little Big Planet from the PS3. It is a 2D Platformer that has lots of charm and cuteness. The graphics are so adorable and really make the game just fun to play and look at. I would definitely recommend it for anyone, children and adults alike. There is also a 2-player mode where the 2nd player can play as Prince Fluff. One of the advantages is the fact that you cannot die, but just get hurt and lose gems. This makes the game play less stressful but still engaging. Also you can earn bonus levels but completing the boss levels with a certain number of gems.
I can't wait for some other games to come out for the Wii also including Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, and The Sims 3!

Red My Fortune Cookie
Hey everyone!
I have a new nail polish to show you. This week it is OPI's Red My Fortune Cookie. I actually bought this one on clearance at JCPenney for about half off. It reminds me of the Big Apple Red color which was what I had done before my trip to Disney.
I LOVE this one though. I did have a few chips on the tips of my nails but I also did work all week and go to school. It is still looking good though after about 5 days of wear. I used the Sally Hansen 4-in-1 product I showed earlier and seche vite as a top coat which I love.
The color is a very vibrant orangey red that is nice and shiny especially with the top coat. I also found the application very easy and opaque. I definitely would recommend this one for a good stand-by red. I find that I really like wearing bright reds.
I also received my order of OPI's Chip Skip and Drip Dry Drops so I will be testing that out next week! I am going shopping tomorrow as well so maybe I will have a new haul video to show you, with hopefully better camera skills next time! I am learning. :) Haha. I am going to go check out the new Burlesque collection at JCPenney (can't wait to see that movie btw.)
Okay until next time,
Brigitte

First video
Hey everyone,
So I made my first video but I am kind of embarrassed by it! I am not sure how I like talking to a camera. lol. I think I like blogging more but I think I will get better at it. It's hard because I don't have much time when I am alone here in the apartment to film one so then I don't want to talk loud. Also I just took a shower and I have no makeup on...so that doesn't help!
But it is my first nail polish haul and I hope you enjoy it. I will definitely make another video eventually, I just don't know when I will be able to get around to it. I will post more this weekend!

NOTW: OPI's Ski Teal We Drop
Hey everyone! So I am going to try to do these Nail of the Week posts. I try to paint my nails every once in a while but sometimes I will go a few days without any color! It is hard especially when I am working a lot because my polish seems to chip more. I just recently discovered OPI and China Glaze and have been really enjoying them! I couldn't find anywhere around my area that sold OPI until I went into JCPenney's nail salon and found that they have a lot in there for sale and also some on clearance! I can't wait to keep my collection growing. Hopefully next week I will make my first youtube video either about a nail polish haul or Forever 21 fall fashion.
So here are my first attempts at pictures!
This is a gorgeous dark teal color from the Switzerland collection. I've never really painted my nails dark colors or blues but it has been fun! It is growing on me. I still like the bright reds and pinks best though I think.
My nails aren't that pretty right now but I am currently trying to grow them and make them stronger. I used to always bite at them and pick at them when I was nervous and I am trying very hard to break that habit. I also really need to work on my painting skills because I always get nail polish on my fingers. Hopefully this will provide an inspiration for me!
Also I purchased this at Walmart (where I work):
It is the Sally Hansen's Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-in-1 Treatment. I bought it because I actually saw it on Kissonthechic's Youtube video about nail care. My nails have been peeling a lot and I wanted to help them out! I used it as my base and top coat also for this manicure and it seems okay. I think Seche Vite works a little bit better though. On it's on though it really makes my nails shiny and healthy. I still need to keep using it though.
Okay until next time,
Brigitte

Newbie to Nails
Hi everyone!!
I am so very excited about this new blog. I haven't been part of the online world for awhile and I really want to get back into blogging. Recently I have been addicted to watching youtube videos (it started with Juicystar07 and Allthatglitters21) and reading blogs about nail polish. I thought, maybe I should try to start my own. So I decided on Red Ruby Pumps! I picked this name because Ruby Pumps by China Glaze was one of my first high-end nail polishes and I love it.
To start off, My name is Brigitte (pronounced like Bridget) and I live in Maine. I am currently going to school for Elementary Education and I am 21 years old. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend Evan and another couple. We have been together a year and a half. :) He understands me and my weird obsessions with things like the Internet! He is also a semi-dork himself.
I am hoping to maybe start making youtube videos as well as blogging on here. I am going to try to post nail pictures, reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, shopping stuff..and who knows what else. I am just a girl who loves girly things and taking pictures!
Oh and I absolutely love Disney World as well! I used to live in FL and miss it tons. Me and Evan went there this past August and had a blast. It was his first trip. To start off here are some photos from that trip:
I will hopefully be posting more pictures all the time. Hope you keep reading!
